IEC Scorecard2015 Sen8(Springfield, IL) - The Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) released its 2015 Environmental Scorecard this week. Senator Terry Link (D-Gurnee) has been honored with a perfect voting record.  A total of 61 state legislators received an award for their voting record during the 2015 legislative session. “Terry Link is a leader for the environment in Springfield,” said IEC Executive Director Jen Walling.

The 2015 Environmental Scorecard included six individual legislative measures.  Bills on the 2015 Environmental Scorecard include:
-    SB116 authorizes a county or municipality to establish a green special service area with Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Financing.


-    HB352, or the Bobcat Hunting Bill, allows bobcat hunting in Illinois.
-    The Illinois Clean Jobs Bill grows the share of energy Illinois gets from renewables, expands energy efficiency targets, and creates a framework for reducing carbon pollution (HB2607/HB1485).
-    The Exotic Weed Act adds new invasive species to the list of plants that cannot be sold or distributed in the state (SB681).
-    HB1455 increases electronic waste recycling goals, provides a lower cost and environmentally safe disposal option for CRT glass, and removes costs to local governments.
-    HB1326 protects the Mahomet Aquifer by prohibiting certain MGP waste from landfills.


“Senator Terry Link voted 100% of the time with the environmental community on seven pieces of key legislation,” added Walling.  “The IEC is honored by Terry Link’s dedication to Illinois’ environment and we look forward to working together in the future.”

IEC releases its scorecard following the conclusion of regularly scheduled legislative session.
