WAUKEGAN, Ill. – State Sen. Terry Link, D-Waukegan, is partnering with State Rep. Carol Sente, D-Vernon Hills, and State Rep. Rita Mayfield, D-Waukegan, to host a “Developmental Disabilities: Ask the Experts!” discussion focused on issues faced by members of the developmentally disabled community. The event will be held on Thursday, Sept. 10 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sullivan Community Center, located at 635 Aspen Drive in Vernon Hills.
Residents are invited to join experts, families and local legislators for a group discussion on Supplemental Security Income (SSI), disability services, PUNS placement, day and residential services, home-based care and other issues facing persons with developmental disabilities and their families.
